Apprentice Service Engineer (Groundcare) Reading Branch....for 2019

As a Groundcare Service Apprentice, you will be joining an experienced team of Field Service Engineers who will pass their knowledge onto the next generation.  The work is extremely varied and will see you working on Kubota's range of Compact tractors and ride on mowers - the kind that are used by Golf Courses, Councils, Private Estates and Sports Grounds.  Some of this takes place within our workshops, but much is out on site where you begin with the basics of servicing before moving onto repairs, diagnostics and fault finding.

The apprenticeship is run in conjunction with Kubota, with block release at college and then you will spend time with us to develop what you have learnt during your time away.

At college, you will cover mechanical principles, engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions and electrics - in fact everything you need to build a sound engineering foundation.

On the assumption that you pass the apprenticeship, you will be well on the way to getting a service van of your own, and the beginnings of what should be the start of a very long and rewarding career.  If you would like to register your interest in this apprenticeship, please email karen@listerwilder.co.uk

Hire Installation Driver - Reading Depot (Hours: 8am - 5pm)

We now have a vacancy for a Hire Driver for our busy, expanding Hire Department based at our Wyvols Court depot in Swallowfield, Reading. The main duties of this position will be to deliver machinery, install and give training to our customers. You will primarily be delivering the machinery within the Lister Wilder trading area, this covers the M4 corridor to Bristol and the whole of Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex and Kent.

Upon delivery, you will ensure the customer has been instructed in the safe use of the machinery and that all paperwork is completed and to make sure the machinery is returned in good condition. During quiet delivery times, you will be asked to help in the workshops, alongside the main engineers, carrying out various workshop tasks...these may vary from changing blades, carrying out scheduled service work or valeting a machine ready for sale. You may also be asked from time to time to work for another depot to help during busy periods.

The hours of work will be 8am until 5pm. However, due to the nature of the hire business, it will be required from time to time to vary start and finish times to accommodate customer requests, i.e., early delivery, these will generally be a 6.30am start. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude and be able to use their own initiative to resolve any minor issues that may arise. You must hold a clean licence to drive a 7.5-ton lorry and have a current CPC card with at least 3-years remaining. A competitive package will be offered to the right person.

Agricultural Service Engineers - Wallingford and Cirencester Depots

We are currently looking for two top-flight Agricultural Service Engineers to join our Workshops in Wallingford and Cirencester.   You will be joining very knowledgeable and friendly teams and, as you would expect, we have a very well-structured training programmed that works in conjunction with the manufacturer. The work is technically challenging, and you will be working on some of the most advanced machinery in the market drawing heavily on your knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics and electrics. An existing knowledge of farm machinery isn’t essential, but you will need to have a positive appreciation for the countryside and the unique demands of farming if you are to really fall in love with the job!
