Mobile IT Support Assistant

Location: Wallingford - Hours of Work: Monday – Friday: 8am – 5pm

Our internal IT is looked after by a very busy man called Jim…and Jim now needs some help!

We are looking for someone who can help share the burden, initially working under Jim’s guidance before taking on responsibilities of their own – particularly as new technologies are implemented as the company streamlines systems.  Work will also include the day to day support of staff with desktop and portable devise’s, maintaining network readiness and security and the design and implementation of group policies and procedures.

Essentially, we need a very bright, flexible individual who can juggle priorities and communicate effectively, particularly with members of the team who are brilliant at their specific roles but don’t have the strongest grip when it comes to IT issues…in these cases, patience would be a useful virtue.

What we are looking for…

Ideally, you will have the following skills:

  • 2 years’ experience in a desktop support role
  • Excellent understand of windows 7 /10

Health & Safety Manager Required

The wellbeing of our team is at the heart of what we do and up until this point we have worked closely with an outside provider to ensure these requirements are met.  This has worked well but with ten sites across central Southern England, we have decided that the time is right to employ our own Health & Safety officer – a bright, practical, proactive individual who can work with us to engage the whole team and ensure that policies are adopted that create safe environment for our staff and customers alike.

At the heart of the work will be regular depot visits so we can be confident all existing policies are working at branch level and provide training where gaps are found.  These visits will also create action lists for work that needs to be undertaken – either by members of the team, by outside contractors or simply changes that you could initiate.  This work will be signed off with regular meetings with our Managing Director and therefore, the decision making process is as straight forward as possible.  You will also work on a group basis to ensure that companywide policies are both relevant and current, and of course identifying and creating new policies where gaps are found.

A full list of duties is available on request, but it’s not exhaustive - essentially we are looking for someone who will grow with our organisation and so if you have had around three years’ experience in a similar role and have already obtained NEBOSH accreditation, then we will happily support you with all further relevant training throughout your career.

Location -  you would ideally be based at our Head Office in Wallingford, however, given the nature of this role and the travelling that will be required, there is plenty of scope as long as the branch visits can still be undertaken.

Hopefully this advert has made it clear that we’re not looking for an individual with a clipboard who lectures staff.  We need you to have a passion for making things better and, if they aren’t being done as they should, you identify the problem and deliver a solution.  For the right person, we believe this will be a very rewarding and diverse role, with a competitive salary, which will include, a company vehicle and mobile phone

Apprentice Service Engineer (Groundcare) Reading Branch....for 2019

As a Groundcare Service Apprentice, you will be joining an experienced team of Field Service Engineers who will pass their knowledge onto the next generation.  The work is extremely varied and will see you working on Kubota's range of Compact tractors and ride on mowers - the kind that are used by Golf Courses, Councils, Private Estates and Sports Grounds.  Some of this takes place within our workshops, but much is out on site where you begin with the basics of servicing before moving onto repairs, diagnostics and fault finding.

The apprenticeship is run in conjunction with Kubota, with block release at college and then you will spend time with us to develop what you have learnt during your time away.

At college, you will cover mechanical principles, engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions and electrics - in fact everything you need to build a sound engineering foundation.

On the assumption that you pass the apprenticeship, you will be well on the way to getting a service van of your own, and the beginnings of what should be the start of a very long and rewarding career.  If you would like to register your interest in this apprenticeship, please email

Agricultural Service Engineers - Wallingford and Cirencester Depots

We are currently looking for two top-flight Agricultural Service Engineers to join our Workshops in Wallingford and Cirencester.   You will be joining very knowledgeable and friendly teams and, as you would expect, we have a very well-structured training programmed that works in conjunction with the manufacturer. The work is technically challenging, and you will be working on some of the most advanced machinery in the market drawing heavily on your knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics and electrics. An existing knowledge of farm machinery isn’t essential, but you will need to have a positive appreciation for the countryside and the unique demands of farming if you are to really fall in love with the job!

If you are looking for a strong, stable career and think this is the position for you, then please apply to Jason Scott -
