CAREERS AT LISTER WILDER

We are big believers in developing peoples talents from an early age.  With this in mind we are always keen to open the door for work experience as this gives students a fascinating insight into our business.  Some fall in love with the idea of repairing machinery for a living, and for the most naturally gifted of these people, we offer access to the Kubota Apprenticeship scheme.  This provides a lovely blend of college-based learning alongside quality time with our team of expert engineers…and a combination that accelerates your development and sets you on the pathway to becoming a Groundcare, Agricultural or Construction Service Engineer of tomorrow.

For more details on either the Work Experience or the Kubota Apprenticeship scheme, please contact Karen Martin – karen@listerwilder.co.uk

Area Sales Manager (Groundcare Machinery)

Cirencester

Full Desc

We now have a vacancy for an Area Sales Manager to work within and around the Gloucestershire area, selling very high-quality Groundcare machinery to our established customer base of schools, councils, contractors, golf courses and private estates.

About the role…

The territory has been covered extremely successfully for the past fourteen years by one of our highly regarded colleagues and due to an internal promotion, this lucrative patch now needs someone to continue the excellent work that’s gone before.  It’s a sales role with a difference as our team are all extremely hands-on which allows them to conduct site visits, advise on machinery requirements, conduct demonstrations and install the machinery once the sale is concluded.  Managing the process from start to finish makes it all the more rewarding, however, the requirement for a practical approach and a good knowledge of machinery becomes essential.

The team all manage their territories as though they are their own businesses – planning their days, scheduling meetings, attending shows & events, working on tenders and targeting marketing activities.  With success so tangible, this freedom suits those who are self-motivated, driven and passionate about using their time wisely.  We also need people who genuinely recognise the value in developing ever closer relationships with our customer base – with the successful candidate having a friendly and professional approach, confident with high-value transactions and able to build these long-term working relationships.

Key Responsibilities would include:

  • Managing all Groundcare sales within the designated area
  • Developing contacts and building relationships
  • Territory planning and management
  • Prospecting new potential customers
  • Preparation of quotations
  • Arrange and conduct machinery demonstrations
  • Manage territory credit control and resolve customer account queries
  • Management of used machinery stock
  • Achievement of the annual sales target

About you…

The ideal Salesperson will have the following:

  • Excellent communications skills; both verbal and written
  • Experience in the Groundcare industry
  • Highly organised
  • Able to use own initiative

Groundcare Service Engineer

Reading

Full Desc

We are currently looking for an experienced Service Engineer to work on a variety of Groundcare products. Based at our Reading branch you would be joining a very knowledgeable and friendly team with a good mix of age and experience and whilst the work is technically challenging, we look to provide a well-structured training program that works in conjunction with Kubota UK. Much of the repair and service work is carried out on-site and so a fully expensed vehicle will be provided. The mainly mobile role means that every day is different, but you still retain the support of the base at Reading and the majority of our work tends to be with contractors, councils, schools, golf courses and private estates within Berkshire and the surrounding area.

About you…

Full product training will be provided but we are looking to work with someone who already has a very solid foundation, ideally possessing extensive knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, electrics and hydraulics. Many of these skills will be interchangeable from related industries but previous experience with Groundcare or Construction machinery would be ideal. It’s also important that you are comfortable in front of the customer as you’ll be speaking to many of them about the service, repair, diagnostic or warranty work that you have undertaken and ensuring they are happy with the job before moving on to the next.
