Meet the Team – Simon Paget

Construction Co-ordinator

Simon Paget
Construction Co-ordinator

Meet Simon, a new face on the Construction team at our Reading Depot. Offering plenty of years of experience within the industry, Simon is looking forward to the future with the team at Lister Wilder.

With 16 years working directly for a land drainage and construction company, Simon gained an invaluable understanding of specialist equipment from operations and engineering point of view. Working both in the civil engineering side, service and workshop, ensuring a rounded understanding of the products and back up requirements.

‘I am a very ambitious person and it is important to me to be able to have progression within a company’, Simon moved on from his role and into a Plant focused appointment working on Manitou, Case and Mecalac Construction equipment for a local machinery company. Being able to further strengthen his skills in the plant and construction industry, Simon felt passionate about growing his knowledge. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, Simon found himself looking for a new opportunity within the industry. ‘I know Lister Wilder as a reputable company in the construction sector and so when I saw the job advertised, I was quick to apply.’

Simon was appointed in November 2020 as a Construction Coordinator; working with the team to ensure the smooth rollout of machines and customers satisfaction. ‘I am enjoying the new challenges and busy department that is Lister Wilder Construction, with a background of service and engineering, it is great to understand the machines from that point of view, but also use my customer service skills to coordinate the rollout of products.’

Lister Wilder construction is a consistently busy part of the business both in retail and hire. With the Kubota line of products on offer, the business offers a wide range of machines to their customer base. ‘I believe the Kubota product range is brilliant and most importantly reliable. I am looking forward to working with it more and more.’ Simon explains.

Being a new member of a large team, it has been fairly fast-paced so far for Simon with lots of machines heading out to customers. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic Lister Wilder has remained busy with Simon describing them being ‘brimming’ with orders to get out. ‘Coming from a previous company were COVID had such a large impact, I am relieved that Lister Wilder seems to be in demand despite the situation.’

With the months flying by and the changes that the company has gone under, we wondered how Simon feels about his new team. ‘The Lister Wilder team have been so welcoming and it really has been a breath of fresh air. They are a forward-thinking company which excites me for future prospects within the business.’
