The Lister Wilder Low Down on HDK

There seems to be a lot of talk about HDK golf buggies and utility vehicles at the moment so we caught up with Phill Hughes Sales Director at Lister Wilder Ltd to get the low down.

So Phill, could you tell us a bit about HDK?

P Yes sure. HDK have been specialising in electric vehicles since 2006 and have made and sold over 50,000 vehicles in that time. They have manufacturing facilities in both the USA and China which keeps the cost low while maintaining a high level of quality control.

Are the vehicles new to the UK market?

P  There hasn’t been anyone based in England, Scotland or Wales supplying vehicles before now, but there have been cars working at various locations supplied by European dealers, along with the dealer in Northern Ireland  Wolfhound.

So how have they been received?

P Very well. The maintenance free batteries are very popular and people are taking comfort in the fact that the main components (motors and controllers) are used in the same cars as a number of the market leading competitors. Of course, the most popular thing that our customers like is the price!

Could you tell us about the back-up that you offer?

P Our Parts department have worked with HDK to ensure we have everything in stock that might be required. Added to that we currently have over 55 Field Service Engineers with fully equipped vans which means were able to offer a back-up service that is second to none.

For those that don’t know who Lister Wilder are can you fill us in please?

P Of course, Lister Wilder are a family owned business that have been supplying machinery since 1947.  We operate from 8 depots across the South of England and employ over 190 staff. We represent the Groundcare industry leading franchises which include Kubota, Baroness, Dennis, Sisis, Trimax, Charterhouse and Timberwolf. We believe our success has come from the franchises that we offer, our ability to be competitive and the after sales service we offer, which is second to none. Our company logo  Sales with Service identifies the ethos we encourage throughout the company.

As you are mainly based in the South are you planning on servicing the rest of the country, Scotland and Wales?

P At this stage we are going to keep our focus fairly close to our depots in the South of England – but we would welcome any enquiries from dealers in the North, Scotland or Wales that would like to discuss the opportunities HDK could bring.

P Only that we would welcome the opportunity to demonstrate both the HDK range and the savings that they could bring to anyone that has a requirement.
