The Aebi Terratrac are versatile implement carriers, for use in sloping terrain, with attachment areas at the front and rear. Thanks to the lightweight, broad design with a low centre of gravity and identically-sized Terra tyres all around, they are thoroughly at home on sloping terrain and minimize soil compaction. Terratrac models come with a stepless hydrostatic drive.

A range of front and rear attachments is available making the Aebi Terratrac useful all year round. Disc, drum or flail mowers, band hay rake, front loader, snow plough or snow blower can be mounted in front. Rear implements are for example: rotary harrow, plough, trailer, loader and round bale press. Their range of uses is almost limitless.

The Aebi TT 206 has evolved from our modular design system. From a technical perspective, it owes a great deal to the more powerful Terratrac Aebi TT 211.

Its power plant is the normally aspirated Kubota V2607 Diesel, with an output of 57 HP. The transmission is hydrostatic and it has a top speed of 40 km/h.

The equipment level and power output on the basic machine have been deliberately kept to a modest level. However, for many applications, the power is more than adequate and the price is right!

With the optionally available swivel module WIPOMATIK the sitting position is lifted by 70mm, which is still clearly below comparable seat technologies from other manufacturers of implement carriers for steep slopes. Therefore, enough headroom remains. The tilt angle is 10° and is automatically adapted to the hillside. This enables comfortable and upright seat positions especially for extended working hours on a slope, for instance, doing mowing works at motorways or dyke maintenance.

The turbo diesel with a cubic capacity of 2.6 l, a performance of 72 HP and a maximum torque of 232 Nm adds a significant amount of power to the top-range model of the compact class, the Aebi TT 211.

Even difficult operations, such as mulching with a flail mower or snow clearing with a cutter blower, are handled with the greatest of ease by this Terratrac. The extended wheelbase has a very positive effect on the vehicle’s driveability during road and off-road operations. Furthermore, the steering angle is no longer limited, even when using twin tyres.

New and larger water and oil coolers allow for efficient and further improved cooling even in extreme conditions. With front and rear attachment areas, four possible steering modes to be selected at the touch of a button, the stepless hydraulic drive, the logical and easy handling of all functions and the powerful engine, the Aebi TT 211 is a multipurpose and efficient steep-slope implement carrier.

Front- and rear-mounted attachments can be operated simultaneously. Whether mowing operations with rotary or flail mowers, wide-ranging maintenance operations on delicate green spaces, transport or winter service operations – there is a vast variety of possible applications, allowing for economical operation of the machine throughout the year.

Due to the continuous further development that always complies with the state of the art, the excellent price-performance ratio and the proverbial reliability, the Aebi TT 211 has by now become one of the most successful Terratrac models.

Sustainability

Saving while driving is no contradiction
Saving while driving? No contradiction with the eco-drive function. The motor speed is reduced while the vehicle speed remains unchanged. This results in lower fuel consumption and the noise level are reduced. Convincing, effective and sustainable. The powerful stage IV motor is NOX optimised and has lower emissions than ever before. AdBlue is used for exhaust treatment. This urea neutralises the nitrogen oxides and converts them into harmless nitrogen and water vapour. AdBlue is also very inexpensive and biodegradable.

Electrically controlled hydrostatic drive
Automatically equipped correctly for any work. Four driving modes are available – automotive, working I, working II, proportional. Prioritisation between motor and PTO shaft. The flow of force between the drive and PTO shaft is prioritised to different degrees. Automatic Drive Control (ADC) ensures that the drive feed rate is even adjusted to the PTO shaft output that is required. The new implement carrier from Aebi – perfectly equipped for you.

The torsen for unlimited traction

The hydrostatic Aebi Terratrac middle and top-class models have featured the torsen centre differential as standard equipment since the start of production in 2003. The torsen differential ensures automatic and continuous torque distribution to all four wheels. This protects drive components as well as tyres, and even more importantly, the ground. The locking effect of the torsen differential actively prevents the individual wheels from slipping, based on the self-locking mechanism of its worm drive. Due to its design, the Torsen can only provide a locking function when there is a minimum output torque per axle.

In extreme situations such as steep slopes and difficult ground conditions and a simultaneous heavy load on the front or rear of the Aebi Terratrac with no appropriate counterweight, this minimum output torque might no longer be available. This is when the «T-Traction» is activated! The push of a button on the membrane keyboard is sufficient to prevent the front or rear wheels from slipping by means of the multiple-disc clutch downstream of the torsen centre differential. This guarantees perfect traction in challenging situations while retaining all the time-tested benefits of the torsen differential.

Aebi TT Crawler Undercarriages

The multi-functional Aebi Terratrac implement carriers for steep slopes are built such that they are lightweight and they are excellently suited to uses in extremely steep slopes, on sensitive surfaces or on soils that are only load-bearing under certain conditions in wetlands.

Crawler undercarriages mounted on the Aebi Terratrac raise the excellent driving properties to the next level. No matter if used on snow or in wetlands – the large contact area oft he crawlers ensure safe progress where vehicles with wheels reach their performance limits.

The ground clearance of the Terratrac increases considerably by mounting the crawler undercarriages. This ground clearance ensures that when used in marshy land, the machine does not sit evenly and then even remains stuck when the crawlers sink slightly. In addition, the crab steering can also be optimally used, as the crawler undercarriages of the front and rear axles run in their own tracks and therefore alleviate the danger of sinking.

But the large contact surface of the crawlers brings the biggest benefit, as the soil pressure drops markedly and therefore preserves the terrain. Equipped in this way, the Terratrac processes wetlands with ease and competence.

In the snow, cross-country ski runs and sledging paths in tourism areas can be maintained with appropriate front and rear attachments. Thanks to rubber tracks and all-wheel steering the Terratrac moves around easily on sensitive surfaces like prepared slopes without any negative impacts on the underground. All-wheel and crab steering are best suited to practical use because the steering angle and the direction of the front and rear crawler undercarriages match.

The Terra tyres can be changed to the crawler undercarriages in around just one hour. The time requirement is therefore very low and the Terratrac can be used in a versatile manner around the year, alternately with wheels, too.

With additional specialist equipment, the Aebi Terratrac with crawler undercarriages becomes even more versatile. An overhead winch not only improves the security of the driver and it’s machine in extremely steep positions but also enables to work on slopes which haven’t been accessible so far – like green areas with steep declivity in mountainous regions or particularly steep ski slopes. The specially developed winch contains 500 meters of working rope and operates with a traction force up to 4 tons. Furthermore, the 360° rotatable swivel arm enables flexible working at the slope. The Aebi Terratrac with crawler undercarriages and overhead winches has already been successfully used at the Ski World Cup in Adelboden, at the Lauberhorn in Wengen or in Montana. But also material or passenger transportations are possible with special equipment. The Aebi Terratrac transports skiers and their material with a sledge for 6 persons for example. Furthermore, the Aebi Terratrac with crawlers features a high load capacity if used for material transportation.

Aebi History

Johann Ulrich Aebi laid the foundation stone for the unusually successful company history in 1883 with the opening of a mechanical workshop in Burgdorf (Switzerland). In the beginning, Aebi manufactured crop sowing machines, horse-drawn mowing machines, fire engines and turbines and with them won international awards.

Subsequent to 1950, Aebi concentrated particularly on the mechanisation of farming in hilly and mountainous regions. At the beginning with motor mowers and single-axle tractors, later on with transporters and a range of implements, and the machine programme was rounded off in 1975 with the Terratrac, the world’s first steep-slope implement carrier.
