Area Sales Manager – Golf
The Lister Wilder team continues to grow with the addition of David Gray. David joins us as our dedicated Golf Area Sales Manager, covering parts of Sussex, Hampshire and Surrey area. Armed with plenty of knowledge and experience within Golf, we are delighted to welcome David to the team and see him both continue to support our existing customers, and introduce new customers to the benefits of Lister Wilder and our golf-machinery portfolio, which now includes the Salsco rollers!
David’s hands-on experience started when he was 16 at his local golf course, it was here that he realised his passion for the industry. After graduating with a degree in Sport Management from Sheffield Hallam David decided he wanted to further his education and embarked on an additional qualification in Turfgrass Science. This course allowed David to spend some time as an intern at the 2005 US Open at Pinehurst in USA. This was a pinnacle point in David’s career, ‘I gained a lot of insight into the importance of golf course maintenance, and what it takes to organise and produce a golf course to the very best level.’
Following formal education David secured work with two of the finest golf courses in the UK; Sunningdale Golf Club and Queenwood Golf Club. Naturally this experience only strengthened David’s knowledge of maintenance and best practice on golf courses. With some poignant experience under his belt, David was eager to begin a role selling equipment to golf courses. Working with reputable organisations such as TH White and HSS Groundcare, has allowed for David to further his knowledge in a customer-facing environment. He is delighted to be joining the Lister Wilder team in an area he is familiar with, ‘Lister Wilder have provided me with an exciting opportunity to work with market-leading equipment that will offer the best solutions for the Golf market in Surrey, Hampshire and Sussex. To me, the Lister Wilder name holds a strong reputation that gives customers confidence to deal with us. I am looking forward to a successful 2021 and being able to see some old friends and customers when I am out on the area.’
