Area Sales Manager
Lewis had a passion for agriculture from the very beginning growing up on his parent’s smallholding. It was no secret that he wanted to pursue a career in the agricultural industry, telling all his school teachers that he was going to be a Farm Manager when he grew up. Once finishing school, Lewis attended Hartpury College to complete Level 3 Extended Diploma in Agriculture before embarking on work.
“I wanted to get straight into farm life and so went to work for a contractor from College, I enjoyed working with a range of machines and getting some practical time out in the field.”
After spending some all-important time in the driver’s seat, Lewis was approached to work at a Grain store managing the operation as well as working at a feed mill on blends for cattle feed. Lewis found that he was developing an interest in sales after meeting lots of sales representatives in his role.
“My first sales role was with a genetics company as a genetics consultant. I really got stuck into the role, with lots of calling around customers and experiencing the rollercoaster that sales can be.”
Lewis was approached after a vacancy for an Agricultural Area Sales Manager became available at Lister Wilder.
“Within a week of speaking with the team, I had started. In general, I loved cows and machinery so being able to work in a role that incorporates my passions has always been the goal. Having experience of growing up on a farm and operating machinery, I feel like the role at Lister Wilder is a great step in my career.”
Lewis joined the Lister Wilder Agricultural team in March 2023.
“I have been welcomed by the whole team and everyone has been very supportive. The culture at Lister Wilder is something special. I have never worked for a company like it, everyone looks after each other. You are expected to work hard but they treat you like a member of the family.”
When it comes to the Agricultural portfolio at Lister Wilder the isn’t a shortage of quality brands to get out and sell. So, what is Lewis’s favourite machine to get in front of the customer?
“The Kubota FB1000, it’s just a completely different ball game for customers. I have been out with the machine quite a bit last year in the season and customers love it. It’s very impressive and nice to demonstrate something different. I am looking forward to getting out and about with the machine in 2024. In general, I like getting the Kubota brand in front of the customers, I believe it is a brand of the future and feel passionate about being part of the driving force of growing its awareness in the market.”
When Lewis isn’t flying the flag for Lister Wilder, he is working on building his very own house with his girlfriend. But everyone needs a stress reliever so as well as all of that, Lewis tries to get out and enjoy a good game of golf.
